After many cans of Redbull, JTAG and his crew have done the first physical iPhone unlock.
It required many hours of soldering and technical work, but after many hours of problem solving they have done it!
Wow!
That didn’t take very long - did it?
Only one month or so after the iPhone was released, they successfully unlocked it from AT&T so you can use it with any carrier you choose.
No crazy contracts or anything like that.
Which is a relief to quite a few readers who were concerned about the expensive extended contract you were previously locked into when you bought an iPhone.
Also check out the latest games by Macmost.
A month ago we posted about the first games that macmost had developed for iphone = now they have made more free games for your iphone. Check out the video where they show you how!

She does admit that she sends thousands of text messages though - so I doubt anyone else got a 300 page bill for their iphone.
But still, what a bizarre thing to do - I wonder how much it cost AT&TÂ to print, and send that bill??!

The great guys over at iphonehacks.com have reported that Euro hackers are successfully unlocking iPhones:
“So while we have folks at iPhone Dev Wiki looking at a software hack to unlock the iPhone without AT&T, we have hackers from Europe claiming to have already completely unlocked the iPhone using a SIM reader/writer and a blank SIM card to obtain full calling and SMS capabilities.”
Go over and read their post.

I’ve just been playing with the javascript tool over at colorwarepc, and been designing a new “cool look” color scheme for my iPhone. You can do it too. Just follow the link and play with the colors (click the choices under “color options” in the right hand side bar)! Some changes are really cheap - but!! the full monty is exxy - but also sooo beautiful. Here is my iphone re-design - custom made by me:

These guys custom paint your iPhone to your specifications. So don’t worry about the one color iPhones are sold in: you can make your iPhone any color you want!

Considering how much bad press Apple got about it’s iPod battery after it was discovered “highly dubious”… they have unsurprisingly released a “pre emptive” guide to maintaining your iPhone battery.
Though the guide is short, it’s practical and well written. And includes a lot of things you may not have thought of which will help conserve the battery life of your iPhone.

So even if you’re a total techie, you owe it to yourself to take 3 minutes out of your day and find out the official word on the iPhone battery.
