Five Star iPhone Movie For 99¢!

August 4th, 2010 by admin

This recently released movie is called The Weathered Underground. Its USP is that it’s an interactive film - well,  actually, its an App that allows us to decide how the movie ends (so its gotta be a five star film, right!). The App  is currently on offer for the next week at 99¢ instead of the usual $3.99. It is billed as having hundreds of choices with dozens of endings.

The App was released about a month ago and has rave reviews (all are 5 star ratings - maybe a little help from friends?).

Update - Now We Can Watch Facebook Videos On Our iPhone!

June 20th, 2010 by admin

Facebook

And this was almost great news!

The iPhonegizmop team went into immediate action on hearing about this update, which - according to facebook means:

You can now watch Facebook videos on iPhone.

OK, sweet, we thought! Finally a way to get round the restrictions of watching videos on our iPhone. So, having first updated our facebook app to version 3.1.3, off we trot to CBS and grab the latest NCIS vid:

Then, we send it to Facebook. And yes, that worked - we could watch the video there (OK, so that’s as expected). Looking good, so far.

Facebook Videos on iPhone

Yep, here is Ziva being sworn in as a US citizen.

Step 3, open our iphone facebook app. And, yep - there is the video - woo hoo!

Click “play” and get:

Facebook Videos on iPhone

So, what videos can we watch? Well, YouTube, of course. But now we can watch the YouTube Videos posted to Facebook on our iPhones. Hmmm - we are underwhelmed.

Now what was the latest NCIS episode called again? Oh yeah: Rule 51 - which happens to be “SOMETIMES -YOU’RE WRONG”. Something for Apple to think about!

Stop fighting you guys and just fix it so we can watch all the great videos out there on our iPhone. We don’t CARE what your argument is about! Just wanna watch this stuff on our iPhone. This is just too bad.

Oh, and BTW - there is no designated video button we can use to view the videos our friends have posted (like on Facebook). And THAT means we have to wait til one of our friends posts a video and then catch it in the “stream” before it passes by!!

We are underwhelmed by the update, I’m afraid. Coulda been good. Just too little to really get excited about it.

May 14th, 2010 by admin

Or perhaps you have been hankering to get some iPhone accessories that just seem a mite too expensive to buy - like the cables that will hook you up so that you can watch iPhone movies on TV?

Or perhaps you have been drooling over the new iPads? or would love a 13″ Mackbook Pro? All are up for grabs in the “Win An Apple a Day” retweet contest announced just three hours ago on DealsPl.us.

Every day for the next week Dealspl.us will be giiving a way (in random order) a $25 iTunes card, an iPod Nano, an iPod Shuffle, iPod Touch, iPod 3GS, a 16GB iPad, and the 13″ MacBook Pro.

So where are the free 200 iPhone music downloads from iTunes? Well, the small print in the contest says:

  1. iPhone 3GS winners will receive an Apple giftcard in the amount of $199.
  2. MacBook Pro winners will receive an Apple giftcard in the amount of $1,199.

Which means you have a choice about how you spend that giftcard! So, how many iPhone Music downloads can be got for $199? That’s right - over 200 (depending on whether you buy singles or albums).

Just click the link to get the details of how to enter this Twitter-based contest. If you already have a twitter account, then one click is all it takes to enter the contest! It doesn’t get better than this.

1stVideo - Networks Edition

Love taking movies with your iPhone? Been wanting to take your iPhone movie production to the next level?

Then the just-released FREE App from Vericorder may be just the shot (yuk yuk). This cool new app allows us to record, edit and send broadcast- and podcast-ready videos from our iPhone (3GS).

While earlier versions of iPhone are not supported by this app, there are several good free apps that do enable earlier iPhones to  produce videos. For example, Video genius released last month is currently available as a free App (so grab it before they start charging). This app allows 3G and1st generation iPhones to record video.

Free iPhone Videos That Will Blow You Away!

March 14th, 2010 by admin

The iPhonegizmo team - as you can appreciate -has its fair share of geeks. And what do geeks love most? They lovvve technology that goes boom! And the free iPhone videos featured on today’s post do that with flare and style. Check out some samples of these beautifully produced videos:

How to smash a helicopter

Climate Change As Seen From Heaven

OK - so now you know we are posting about NASA. Because NASA has launched (yeah, lousy pun - but ya gotta do what ya gotta do) three free apps already in 2010 that are worth getting.  PLUS they have also launched NASACast Video through iTunes which provide free video podcasts from NASA including a weekly update TV show which we can download and watch on our iPhone - the latest one from just two days ago is shown below:

Now you may have noticed that all the videos shown in the post are from YouTube. Well, NASA has four YouTube channels as well. So you can see these videos there - but there is a bit of work finding videos on any particular subject. For once, its easier to use iTunes! Either by downloading the NASA Video Podcasts:

Or by downloading any or all of the apps:

1)  The first Official NASA App  (with 10,000 ratings at 3.5 star since Dec 2010, so its been popular) provides incredible footage of shots of the planet from space.

2) The Second app (first released at the end of Jan 2010) provides stunning images of stars and planets.

3) And the third app (released only a few days ago) is a FREE GAME - the NASA Lunar Electric Rover (LER) Simulator. Now we can pretend that WE are astronauts! because this game gives a a glimpse of life on an outpost on the moon.

And the good news is that you don’t have to live in the USA to enjoy these beautifully produced NASA videos !
