How To Get Free Wifi On Your iPhone

Wi-Fi Finder

There have been several free apps released that aim to help us find wifi hotspots. But they have generally gotten very poor ratings (2.5 star ratings and less). One exception is the recently updated Wifi Finder which has had a better response from reviewers and has managed to pull a three star rating.

Surprisingly, this app has not yet been widely discovered – with only some 900 ratings compared to, say, the “free WiFi” app – which is listed first in the results and has had over 15K ratings with a poor overall 2.5 star result. So we suggest you try WiFi Finder out.

There is another good source of info about free wifi hotspots that we reckon readers will find useful as it lists hundreds of hotspots for places like New York and is a global resource. Its not an app – so probably best to check this one out before you head out.

The great thing about this site is that there is an easy to use interface for adding any free wifi spots you know of that are not already listed. It takes less than 30 secs to add the hotspot so it is a growing resource. Its weakness is that it does not (yet?) provide a map location for the hotspot – just the address and even the phone number for the venue.

Either way, these are two great ways to find free wifi hotspots.
